Humans, the Arbiter Race, the faithful, and the favored of the Olympians. They were the first created by Gaia, and the first to show undying reverence to the gods. They were not immortal like the Kobaloi, and not as beautiful as the Siren, but they were perfect in their simplicity. Each human bore only enough uniqueness from one to another to tell them apart, unlike the Kobaloi who were interesting and unique, but unpredictable and chaotic. The humans made the perfect race of people to inhabit the world.
When the War of The Titans devastated the world and destroyed Greece, Rome, and other surrounding areas, the Olympians had to decide who would inherit New Olympus as the rightful rulers of the world. Almost unanimously the Humans were chosen to be the favored race, those who would breathe life into New Olympus, care for all other races equally, show no heavy bias toward any god, and devote themselves entirely to seeing New Olympus as the epicenter of the world. However, dep in every human heart there is the hint of worry that one day there will be an uprising, and that the other races will look to dethrone the humans as The Arbiter Race. They know not when, they don’t dare to consider how, but it is a thought that haunts them to the core.
Advantages
The humans, created to be a true neutral in a world of imbalance, are the penultimate choice for the rulers of New Olympus, save for the Olympians themselves. As the favored of the gods, all humans inherently start each day with at least 1 Divine favor. In addition, if they are ever without at least 1 Divine favor, they may go to a shrine or temple of their chosen Olympian and spend 10 essence to regain 1 Divine favor. This may only be done once per day.
Disadvantages
Humans are the most devout race in New Olympus, and they strive to make everything they a service to their god or goddess. They are born to serve the Olympians, raised in their ways, and trained to be a representative of their city-state from the start. Because of this, always roleplay suggestions by city-state for humans are requirements, and must be played at all times. Consistently diverting your roleplay requirements may result in a loss of your divine favor. However, you may elect to avoid these requirements at character creation, and not take the advantage of divine favor.
Roleplay Requirements:
Humans must consistently adhere to the roleplay suggestions of that city-state their character was born and raised in.
Make-up & costuming requirements:
Humans focus will always be on serving their gods and goddesses, wearing simple clothing that fits the city-state they were raised in. It is rare that devout humans will bring attention to themselves through their clothing, preferring simple patterns, solid colors, and muted colors. As the favored race of the Olympians, devout humans must represent their with a simple gold marking of their god or goddess somewhere on exposed flesh. If you want to go above and beyond, humans also have an faint glow to their bodies that is only notice at night and in the presence of Olympians. Phys-repping this not mandatory, but preferred.
