City: Corinth
Olympian: Apollo
Population: ~150
Races: Kairos, Lya's Own, Gaian, Carved, Humans
The City:
Corinth was intended to be the political center of New Olympus. Unfortunately, Nethali of Winter's arrival and subsequent casting of New Olympus into a brief ice age brought all of that to a halt. As the center of the explosion of cold, frozen energy that took over the city-states for a brief period of time, Corinth never recovered as well as the rest of New Olympus. The city was left a barren wasteland, lacking nutrients to farm, places to rebuild, and possessing nothing to offer in terms of commerce and trade. No one invested in it, and now Corinth is home only those willing to subject themselves to the whimsy of Apollo's many fancies. He tends to change his intent for the city on a whim, but the only consistent thing that can be found are plants that survive to grow medicines, herbs and poisons. Corinth may not be frozen over anymore, but the city itself is still vastly dead and unexplored. There are conversations in recent months of Corinth becoming a useful place for farmers in the future, but that is to be decided.
The People:
The people of Corinth are in a state of recovery from the Ice Age. Most here are loners, and no one is quite sure why anyone would want to live in such a deserted areas. People assume the inhabitants there are studying lost magics, necromancy, worshipping lost gods, or are simply eccentric. The ones that are there are usually herbalists and apothecaries that stay for short periods of time before returning home to sell and profit from their concoctions. There are a few wandering tribes of savages who believe they are strong followers of Artemis, but she has long since turned her back to their wasteful ways.
