Overview:
Athens is the most well known city-state outside of New Olympus. This is where people of New Olympus gather to meet and discuss the issues at hand. Each Olympian has a shrine here, and all races are freely represented. People may come and go as they please, but those wishing to become a citizen are scrutinized and must go through a rigorous process of proving themselves before they are allowed to become a citizen.
The climate of Athens is warm, typically and receiving rain only every few months. Farming here is difficult due to this, so Athens has become a city of commerce, trade, and business. Many come here to make connections and sell goods, especially with competition for merchants and finer goods being so high in Oropos. Athens caters to a different market, however, with Market Hill being the largest market in New Olympus. It primarily offers basic life necessities like food, supplies for apothecaries, blacksmiths and medicinal recipes. There are a variety of merchants for all wares, and their pricing varies from person to person and shop to shop.
Additionally, at the crest of Market Hill in north Attica is The Areiopagos, where major judiciary accounts are heard and argued for all of New Olympus, as well as minor disputes for Athens. The Areiopagos not only houses the a substantial courtroom, but deeper within the mountain that it sits on top of are deeper layers of prisons and cells, whose crimes are too heinous to see freedom again.
