Hall of Vigilance
The Hall of Vigilance is a towering structure in memorial to the fallen heroes of the war. Lining the halls are inscriptions, passages, prayers and quotes of these martyrs, and larger-than-life statues of marble for many of the heroes that died. People often come here to pay their respects, and some say that spending enough time here can renew your mind and body.
Protected by the gods and goddesses and centrally located in the golden city of Olympia, it is not uncommon that people who visit regularly have a better understanding of the paths they walk, and feel encouraged and empowered to do the will of the gods.
The Areiopagos
New Olympus is a growing society, learning their way around the legal system. Primarily, assault, thievery, and murder are all frowned upon and the citizens will deal with these issues amongst themselves. However, when issues can’t be resolved between neighbors, court is called, and those involved will make their way to The Areiopagos. Located in Athens, the Areiopagos is one of the few places where Zeus can be found when not in his temple or outside of Athens.
Court is the only way to have your complaint heard by the magistrate and judged by the jury. Once you have arrived in The Areiopagos, your rights are stripped from you, your friends can not help you, and you have only your wits and your Favor to win.
The Bibliotecha
The Bibliotecha is a historical library from which much can be learned. It is the foremost institute of learning and research, with books and and documents and journals ranging as far back as people were able to write. Apollodorus of Athens, the founder and caretaker, is a Gaian who is widely considered the most knowledgeable mortal in New Olympus. He created the Bibliotecha and began storing ancient texts there, and soon his work was found to be some of the most substantial and reliable sources of historical documentation ever recorded. Though his work was originally kept safe in The Ruins, it has since been relocated to a nicer facility in Olympia. Apollodorus is often found teaching classes in The Bibliotecha, but frequents Crete.
